Eileen Levitt, SPHR President
Ms. Eileen Levitt founded The HR Team in 1996. Ms. Levitt has over 20 years of human resource experience relating to human resources and business strategy, employee communications, employee training, recruitment and retention strategies, executive/employee coaching, employee benefits, financial management, compensation, and policy/procedure development. Since forming The HR Team, Ms. Levitt has served numerous domestic and international clientele in the following industries: publishing, communications, technology, biotechnology, staffing, trade associations, manufacturing, banking/financial services, medical/healthcare, professional service, non-profit, research/scientific, landscaping, retail, and utilities.
Over the years, Ms. Levitt's greatest accomplishments have involved the implementation of cost effective and time efficient recruiting and retention practices that have allowed companies to attract and retain high quality employees.
Prior to starting The HR Team, Ms. Levitt was the Human Resources Director for Rapid Systems Solutions; a Maryland based high technology firm as the company grew from 28 to 350 in 5 years; Human Resources Administrator for The Discovery Channel as the company grew from 90 to 450 in 3 years and worked in mutual fund accounting for T. Rowe Price Associates in Baltimore, MD.
Ms. Levitt received a BS degree in Finance from The American University, and an MBA from The University of Baltimore. She is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Ms. Levitt currently serves on the following nonprofit boards: Network 2000 (where she serves as co-chair of the membership committee and past chair of mentoring and philanthropy) and Association for Corporate Growth (where she serves as the current president-elect). She has also served on the boards for: University of Baltimore’s Merrick School of Business (where she served on the entrepreneurship advisory board), Jim Rouse Entrepreneurial Fund (where she served on the board), Business Women's Network (where she is a past board president), American University Alumni Association (where she served as the Baltimore Chapter president), and Leadership Howard County (Class of 2003 and served on the General Membership Executive Committee).
In addition, she has served on the board of Integrity National Corporation, a for-profit privately held government contractor based in Rockville, Maryland.
Ms. Levitt has been published an/or quoted in numerous magazine and periodicals including: The Wall Street Journal, USA TODAY, Employment Management Today, HR Magazine, Inc. Magazine, Baltimore Sun, The Business Monthly, Baltimore and Washington Business Journals, The Daily Record, and Forbes.com. She is a featured contributor on negotiation in the Dale Carnegie Sales Training Book “Sales Advantage” and on the interviewing process for the book The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Work. She also served as the "Recruiting Expert" for the online career management site vault.com.
