Members of the HR TeamEileen Levitt, SPHR - PresidentMs. Eileen Levitt founded The HR Team in 1996. Ms. Levitt has nearly 20 years of human resource experience relating to human resources strategy, employee communications, employee training, recruitment and retention strategies, executive/employee coaching, employee benefits, financial management, compensation, and policy/procedure development. Since forming The HR Team Ms. Levitt has served numerous domestic and international clientele in the following industries: publishing, communications, technology, biotechnology, staffing, trade associations, manufacturing, banking/financial services, medical/healthcare, professional service, non-profit, research/scientific, landscaping, retail, and utilities. Over the years, Ms. Levitt's greatest accomplishments have involved the implementation of cost effective and time efficient recruiting and retention practices that have allowed companies to attract and retain high quality employees. Prior to starting The HR Team, Inc., Ms. Levitt was the Human Resources Director for Rapid Systems Solutions; a Maryland based high technology firm as the company grew from 28 to 350 in 5 years; Human Resources Administrator for The Discovery Channel as the company grew from 90 to 450 in 3 years and worked in mutual fund accounting for T. Rowe Price Associates in Baltimore, MD. Ms. Levitt received a BS degree in Finance from The American University, and an MBA from The University of Baltimore. In addition, she holds a certificate from Harvard Law School on Negotiation and Managing HR Effectiveness. She is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Ms. Levitt is a member and active participant of numerous community organizations including the Howard County Chamber of Commerce, Network 2000 (where she serves on the board), University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business (where she served on the entrepreneurship advisory board), Jim Rouse Entrepreneurial Fund (where she serves on the board), Business Women's Network (where she is a past board president) Association for Corporate Growth (where she serves on the board), Society for Human Resources Management, CHRA (where she served on the student chapters' committee), American University Alumni Association (where she served as the Baltimore Chapter president), and Leadership Howard County (Class of 2003 and served on the General Membership Executive Committee). Ms. Levitt has been published an/or quoted in numerous magazine and periodicals including: The Business Monthly, The Wall Street Journal, USA TODAY, Employment Management Today, HR Magazine, Inc. Magazine, Baltimore Sun, Baltimore and Washington Business Journals, The Daily Record, and Forbes.com. Thomas Haller, SPHR - Director of ConsultingMr. Haller joined The HR Team in April 2004 he is responsible for strategic human resources planning, quality control, staffing and staff development, and project planning. He has over 25 years of HR generalist, line management and organizational development experience. His expertise includes leadership development, team building, morale management, strategic planning, executive coaching, diversity, and employee relations. He has served in senior HR executive roles for high-growth information technology, government contracting, and biotechnology businesses. As an HR Partner at IBM, he supported the Southeastern Marketing and Service Area. As their internal HR consultant, Mr. Haller received a coveted General Manager's Award for his initiatives in performance and morale management during the company's most challenging period. As HR Director at GE Capital IT Solutions, Mr. Haller and his 11 member HR team supported a 16 state, $1 billion region. He successfully transformed an inexperienced personnel department into a strategic, client-focused HR organization that eventually earned an 89% satisfaction rating from line management. He also designed and implemented an effective performance management program and developed a comprehensive recruiting process that was adopted by the parent, GE Capital Services. As Senior Vice President of HR and Administration at Emergent Information Technologies, Inc., Mr. Haller was responsible for HR, administration, security and information systems for this 850 employee, $120 million government contractor. During his tenure, he also directed the seamless integration of five acquisitions, completed two major facility relocations, implemented a Ceridian HRIS system, and introduced a very successful employee referral program that was instrumental in recruiting over 350 new employees. Later, Tom joined Aptus Pharmaceuticals, a newly formed drug discovery company as the HR Director. Working as a coach to the founder and CEO, Tom helped identify the leadership's core values and defined a cultural vision that provided the foundation for the company's handbook policies and management practices. Besides his extensive HR experience, Mr. Haller has performed as a computer technician, technical instructor and computer service manager with IBM. Mr. Haller earned a Master's degree in Human Resource Development from The George Washington University's School of Education and Human Development in 2005. He is also a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in human resources and labor relations. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources, (SPHR), and is a participating member in the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Deb Waldman - Senior ConsultantMs. Waldman joined The HR Team in 1999 and has over 20 years of human resources experience relating to organizational development, employee relations, recruitment, training, management development, HRIS, benefits and salary administration, and legal and compliance issues. Ms. Waldman currently manages projects for clients in the following industries and disciplines: communications, technology, biotechnology, trade associations, manufacturing, real estate investment, academic, banking/financial services, medical/healthcare, professional services, non-profit, and research/scientific. Prior to joining The HR Team, she was Director of Human Resources for The Enterprise Foundation where she restructured human resources into a customer service model of delivery. Prior to the non-profit position, Ms. Waldman held several top human resource management positions in the banking and financial investment industry, and worked as a technical/executive recruiter for search firms. She holds a BS from Southern Connecticut University, and an MS from the University of Oklahoma. Ms. Waldman is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Chesapeake Human Resources Association, and American Society for training and Development. Ms. Waldman volunteers with several organizations whose mission is to benefit disadvantaged children. Karen Warthen, SPHR - Managing ConsultantMs. Warthen joined The HR Team in 2001 and has over 12 years of human resources experience relating to benefits, compensation, recruiting, employee relations and compliance issues. Ms. Warthen currently manages projects for clients in the following industries and disciplines: communications, technology, biotechnology, staffing, trade associations, banking/financial services, retail, travel, professional service, non-profit, landscaping, and research/scientific. Prior to joining The HR Team, she was Director of Human Resources for Tidepoint Corporation and EB Networks. In both organizations, Ms. Warthen successfully established and grew the human resources departments during periods of exponential growth. Prior to the technology companies, Ms. Warthen was a Human Resources Administrator for Consumer First Mortgage. She has a BS from York College, an MS in Management from University of Maryland, University College and is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Ms. Warthen is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Danielle Schuman, SPHR - ConsultantMs. Schuman joined the HR Team in 2004. She has over 10 years of HR experience in the areas of recruitment, compliance, benefits, employee relations, performance management and compensation. Ms. Schuman currently manages projects for clients in the following industries and disciplines: technology, non-profit, trade association, biotechnology, and research/scientific. Prior to joining The HR Team, Ms. Schuman was the Human Resources Generalist for Elliott Management Corporation, a financial services firm in Manhattan, where she managed various HR functions through tremendous company growth and change. Ms. Schuman also served as a Resource Manager for Parson Group (now Parson Consulting), and as the Human Resources Coordinator for NYU Division of Libraries. Prior to her sojourn in New York City, Danielle was the HR Manager for Baltimore’s Cross Keys Inn, where she managed human resources through a complex change process to new management. Ms. Schuman has a BA from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and has completed coursework at Towson University towards her MS in Human Resources Development. Ms. Schuman is also a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Melissa L. Linton, PHR - Senior Human Resources GeneralistMs. Linton joined The HR Team in 2006. She has seven years of human resources experience including recruiting, training, performance management, career development, diversity program development, employee relations, benefits, compensation, payroll, safety, and compliance issues. Prior to joining The HR Team, Ms. Linton was the Human Resources Generalist for east coast operations at Odwalla, Inc., an all-natural juice distributor wholly owned by the Coca Cola Company. Before her tenure at Odwalla, Ms. Linton spent four years at the National Aquarium in Baltimore as a Human Resources Generalist. There she was responsible for the overhaul and management of the recruitment program, formation of the organization's first career development program, worker's compensation administration, employee relations, and special projects. Further, she was an active member of the Aquarium's Diversity Committee which received the Chesapeake Human Resources Association's James W. Rouse Diversity Award in 2005. During her tenure at the Aquarium, Ms. Linton co-presented a breakout session on talent management and organization culture at the West Virginia University's 1st Annual Human Resources Conference. Ms. Linton also previously served as a Human Resources Specialist at Intraforce, LLC; a Maryland-based Professional Employer Organization. Ms. Linton has a BA in Communications with honors and an MS in Human Resources Development from McDaniel College. She is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Ms. Linton is and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Chesapeake Human Resources Association (CHRA). Angela Martin - HRIS SpecialistMs. Martin joined The HR Team in 2007. She has 13 years of experience working in Human Resources Information Systems ("HRIS") and HR generalist roles. Ms. Martin allows The HR Team to provide a well rounded HR approach to our clients' needs using all resources which may include HR specific technology applications. Prior to joining The HR Team, she was employed by Accenture, PHH, Alpharma, Johns Hopkins, and Ryland Homes. Ms. Martin has a BA in Psychology from University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Loyola. Christina Bashian – HR SpecialistMs. Bashian joined The HR Team in 2006. She has two years of human resources experience relating to benefits, HR compliance, and recruiting. Prior to joining The HR Team, she was employed by the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association. Christina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Management from Hofstra University and is currently completing a Master of Science in Applied Psychology with a concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Baltimore. Ms. Bashian is a student member of Society for Human Resource Management, Chesapeake Human Resources Association, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and Personnel Testing Council. Steve Parker - Compensation SpecialistMr. Parker has over 30 years of experience in all facets of Human Resources. He has served in compensation and benefits rolls for such companies as Martin Marietta, COMSAT, M/A-Com & Orbital Sciences. Clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, high tech and trade associations. Mr Parker holds a BS from the University of Maryland and an MBA from American University. |
